A fellow soaper whom I met through the Internet and for whose work, personality and dedication I have developed deep appreciation is coming to Japan this autumn! I am so excited to finally be able to meet her in person that I cannot wait for the time of her visit to come! What could be better than this?!
The other day a friend of mine asked me to make 10 different soaps for her. Needless to say, I jumped at this opportunity and began making 10 different soaps for her. One of them I called Blue Wave because it reminds me of the waves when the sea is rough. Several years ago, I had the chance to experience what navigating through a typhoon feels like. I survived a 25-hour trip on a relatively small ferryboat. The boat was caught in a typhoon and had to navigate its way to Tokyo in extremely rough seas. Luckily, the ferry reached harbour unharmed and we, the survivors who had made no contribution to the ship’s surviving, were applauded by fellow workers and friends who were waiting for us at the port 🙂
The soap I created this time though is another way of seeing the waves: beautiful shapes in motion rather than life-threatening destructive monsters 🙂
Or, at least I like to think that this soap is reminiscent of the beauty of the sea, albeit in a very small way.
I used a blend of citrus oils and a little bit of mint for this one and though it does not smell like the ocean, the scent is still fresh and uplifting.
As I am taking part in Amy’s soap challenge this month, I will be experimenting with colors again. So there are so many good things to look forward to. Love good news and autumn.
I wish you all a successful week!
