It is summer, the humidity is high but thankfully the nights still get cool and the breeze feels good. The only thing I wish I had at our new place is the smell of the ocean. The pacific is just several kilometers away and if you take the underground you can be there in about 30 minutes. Tokyo Bay is not as beautiful as Okinawa or the Mariana Islands for the lack of coral reefs and water transparency but we can still dream, can’t we?
One of the soaps I made in the beginning of July is all about transparent waters and coral. It is just a dream as this year we are not going south for the summer holidays.
Unfortunately, I still have to find the best place for taking pictures here – the new ones a little dark so I will be practicing some object photography, too.
I made this soap for a friend of mine who loves mica-swirled soap. Her request was for a mint-type EO blend and sure enough, the soap smells minty and refreshing, though not so eye-opening as the other blends using mint essential oil.
The swirl was made with chopsticks as we had just moved and I had no idea where my soaping gear was. Fortunately, I found almost everything a week ago (and not in the last possible cardboard box!) and have managed to make a few more batches.
I wish you a beautiful day and a successful reminder of the week.
