Or, have I? While I still wonder (because I love natural colorants), I have to say that I have begun to experiment with soap dies. Also, the other day, I got some mica, which is a first to me too.
As I am still new to the world of manmade soap colorants, I have not gotten the basics of the amount of colorant per amount of soap. The result is soaps made in pale colors. They do look ok to me but I hope to be able to get braver so that I can achieve a clear contrast when the design of the soap calls for it.
With one of my first trials, the tiger swirl, the contrast is almost non-existent but the general impression is of sunshine reflected by the ripples of a creek. If I think about it a little more, it is probably more like the reflection of the sunshine is the laguna beaches of the Pacific tropical islands… (Oh, remember, remember… And dream away…)
Anyway, I am set for the next challenge of Amy and will see what I can do with the colorants I have available at the moment 🙂
I hope you all have a weekend full of warmth and happy moments.
