I know, it is a commonplace expression, but time really flies. My intentions of adding more posts in December and January remained just intentions and here I am, one month later, with Amy’s soap challenge for January.
The Taiwan swirl.
Hmm… For me who used to use only herbs and clays as soap colorants, this swirl was a real challenge. I tried color gels though I was not sure how they would behave in the finished soap – I had heard that some of the gels “leak.”
And sure enough, the border lines of the colors are not as sharp as they would be if I had used ultramarines or micas. Yet, I am pleased with the result as the soft lines are a feature many people might enjoy.
I used four different colors (2 pinks and 2 purples) which, together with the white base, make it a five-color swirl.
The soap is scented with a combination of lavender and citrus essential oils – one of my all-time-favourite blends.
I wish all the participants in this month’s challenge good luck and a lot of fun while choosing and voting for their favourite soaps!
And again, have a good day and enjoy winter!
