Thank you for stopping by and taking some time to read my musings.
If you ask me why I did not start earlier, I have no answer to that question. But starting this blog in English makes me happy and excited because now I can write free – free of worries about my language or how I say what I want to say.
I have been making soap for 5 and blogging for almost 2 years now. My first blog is in Japanese. It is a soaping blog with some additional articles about some other things which I love: my tiny cactus garden, beautiful Japan, cats and chocolate. The blog is at ameblo.jp/infusions/ and though the posts are in Japanese, there are pictures of the soaps I have made so far so if you have time, please feel free to have a look.
I am excited about this blog, because writing in English gives me the freedom which I lack when I write in Japanese. As much as I love Japan, the Japanese language has been and still is the greatest challenge ever for me. I use it every day at work, at home, I blog in Japanese and yet…
Most of my time however, I spend on making soap and reading about the materials I use in the process. I love colors but my soaps are mostly pastel color because I use herbs, clays, and floral waters to color them. I also love white (and all its shades and nuances) and today’s soap is interpretation of the “white” theme.
The soap is scented with a blend of therapeutic grade essentials oils of jasmine, rose, geranium, and sandalwood. I blended it 2 weeks before using it so now it is a lively floral scent with a light spicy note from the jasmine.
I am going to make other soaps under the theme “white” (and not only) so if you have some spare time please come visit me again.
Have a good day!
